Ubisoft's The Crew is ported to PS4 with only two to three people!!

The PlayStation 4 is a lot more accessible for developers to work with then the PlayStation 3 was. That is a fact that now long and widely reported in the media and rightly so. Much more interesting is the consoles getting closer, to hear how developers deal with the  'new' architecture and so that delivers continuous positive news.

Ivory Tower is currently working with The Crew of Ubisoft and the PlayStation 4 for a  port of the PC version. That does not mean bad news ,  as long as the developers do not make themselves it too easily and ensure that the ported version is also of high quality. Something where we with Ubisoft as a publisher should not be too fussed about .

It is interesting to hear that porting from PC to PlayStation 4 was realized in six months and that only whit two to three men. While this process was busy they ran into a few things, but this has never really had much
impact. They also have gotten the engine running quite easily and that was at the PlayStation 3 different.

An additional advantage is that the team is looking at ways to the unique benefits that the PlayStation 4 console haves, there want to make sure they take the full advantage. So the game has not been using all his strength. Below is a quote from Simon O'Connor programmer who is currently working on the PlayStation 4 version.

"The PS4's GPU is very programmable. There's a lot of power in there That We're just not using yet. So, what we want to do are some PS4-specific things for our rendering, but within reason - it's a cross-platform game, so we can not do too much that's PS4-specific ".
