We are facing a digital future that is for sure. About an X number of years we will still in the closet alone classics and all our new games will be in the cloud or on a hard disk.
But until then we will have the most physically purchase in the (online) shops. The majority of gamers provides that the transition to digital will come very soon, but Sony thinks differently. The senior vice president of brand marketing, Guy Longworth, see the recognizable cases containing a Blu-ray disc will not disappear quickly.
Of course the digital business is growing rapidly, but there is also attached great importance to the retail partners. There is also the voice of the gamer that counts and, as previously shown, they still prefer to choose to step looking for a nice deal. Within the local game store
What we try to do is offer a relatively level playing field and let the gamers decide. We're not trying to advantage them, we believe in consumer choice. It's clear That fixed the majority of the people want to go down to GameStop or Best Buy, they do not want to buy it online right now. How That might change in the future is kind of hard to predict. People might be quite surprised, I think physical games will be around a lot longer than some people think.
Now we are quite curious how you think about this. Buy you prefer games in the (online) stores or do you download a game from the PlayStation Network also fine?
