It was a little expected, but DICE has confirmed via Twitter that Battlefield 4 will get a premium service. This service they introduced in Battlefield 3 was a great success, given the number of users now past the 4 million.
What the Premium service for Battlefield 4 will hold remains to be seen and oddly enough, the tweet has also disappeared, but below you can see what was reported in the relevant tweet. Soon we will be hearing more and that will undoubtedly be next month at Gamescom.

Battlefield
4 may yet allow players to transfer their stats and progression from
current to next-gen, the official Battlefield Twitter account has
revealed.
Only yesterday it was reported that Battlefield 4 will not support cross-gen saves, but new Tweets indicate DICE is listening to its community.
"We've
heard reports that players would like their stats and progression to
transfer from current to next-gen in #BF4," reads the Tweet. "We're
investigating."
Further Tweets also reveal that Commander Mode will be available via a standalone app on iOS and Android tablet.
"There is a free stand-alone Commander Mode app that you can download to play the game on your tablet," explains a Tweet.
"Commander Mode will only support iOS tablet devices including the iPad as well as Android tablets such as the Google Nexus."
And finally, DICE has also confirmed that Premium will return in Battlefield 4.
"Yes. There will be a premium version of Battlefield 4," reads a Tweet. "We'll share more info on a future date."
Gamescom could be a good date for the Premium reveal.
